Follow Kenny Chesney's Beauty Advice

Kenny Chesney was quoted as saying “I’m a bodywash guy. It freaks me out to use soap.” I’m dying to find out why soap freaks him out, but regardless of the reason, this grooming habit may very well be his secret to looking so young.

Bar soap often contains sulfates and other detergents that create a lot of bubbles. In fact, that’s why it’s great at removing grime and leaving you squeaky clean. However, these detergents also tend to strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it dry, tight, and irritated. Your arms, legs, and trunk have fewer oil glands than your face, so these are the areas that are most vulnerable to dry skin.

Even if your skin hasn’t been feeling dry, now that the temperature and humidity are dropping and many of us will be spending more time in dry indoor heat, now is a good time to find a moisturizing body wash to carry you through the fall and winter. (Hint: Save the bar soap for your feet and armpits.)

If you have very dry skin, try Olay Body Wash Plus Body Butter Ribbons, which contains hydrating glycerin and mineral oil.

To put yourself in the mood for Halloween, try delicious-smelling Philosophy I Love Candy Corn Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath.

For an all-natural option, try Lavanila The Healthy Body Wash, which gently cleanses with coconut oil and oat protein. It comes in five different vanilla scents.

If you have sensitive skin or a sensitve nose, try Dove Sensitive Skin Nourishing Body Wash, which is unscented.

Hello Jessica Wu,
I purchased your book Feed Your Face and was wondering what probiotics would you recommend me taking if i have seborrheic dermatitis to treat my overgrowth yeast? I'm using right now Nioxin (scalp recovery for a dry, itcy scalp) and i don't think its working even though it has Pyrithione zine 1%. i can't eat yogurt because of the hormones. Please help. Thanks!

Found out about your book when I saw your segment on KCAL9 months ago and then purchased your book. What over the counter neck firming cream would you recommend that will really show a difference.
